Triangle Lightning- black (Norman) made their first appearance at a national tournament in a very long time this summer. The girls persevered through a long summer. It was a great experience for everyone and lots of growth took place. We finished top 20, taking the 17th spot at USA 16A Nationals, and couldn’t be prouder for how the girls battled. Time to regroup for a great Fall season.
The Triangle Lightning Fastpitch Organization and the Wendell Parks & Recreation Department came together once again this past November of 2022 to hosted our annual Toys for Tots event at Carver Elementary School.
This fundraiser gave the community an opportunity to donate a new unwrapped gift so that they could help to put some joy into a child’s heart this past Christmas. Both 16U Triangle Lightning teams participated along side the Lady Hornets and Garner Elite. A special thank you to the umpires who gave of their time voluntarily and also to Coach Penny’s Team NC for donating! It was such a fun event for a wonderful cause.
This was a phenomenal way for everyone involved to give back as they collected an abundance of gifts for Toys for Tots during the holiday season. Can’t wait to see everyone back for an even larger turn out in 2023.

In October of 2021, both teams from our organization joined forces and traveled to Quakertown, PA to compete in the TNT Last Look Fall Showcase. This was a strong showcase that featured over 132 quality teams being watched by over 122 college coaches. The girls played six games over the course of three days. This experience provided everyone with lots of firsts, both on and off of the field. We are confident that many of the lessons learned throughout this trip will benefit the girls greatly as they prepare for the 2022 summer season.
Coaches Annette Cooke, Jeff Norman, and Lacinda Melanson gained valuable insights at a recent NFCA coaches clinic in Charlotte, NC. There is always more to learn in the game of softball and in life.
